Git abort current changes

If you want to keep the locally changed files, and just delete commit message: git reset --soft commit_id If you want to delete all locally changed files and the commit message: WebMay 1, 2024 · 1) wipe my local git database, and try to restore from time machine. 2) try git merge --abort and hope. 3) try to get my_branch from the server again. I don't know how to do this, other than to delete my local git directory, and clone from scratch, then checkout the branch. Any suggestions? Here is a log of the offending rebase:
