Oak leaf blister is caused by the fungus Taphrina caerulescens and occurs on most species of oaks. The spots on the leaves are ¼ to ½ inch diameter and turn a light green as the young leaves expand. The spots age and become covered with an off-white coating of fungal growth that later turns brown.
